Check out MIke Larson's Bio:
With humble but passionate beginnings in his business, Mike would spend weekends skateboarding from house to house dropping off fliers for portraits & weddings. After growing his business somewhat successfully for 4 years by age 21, he began to burn out on several fronts: from shooting the same old thing weekend after weekend, to processing images, to an increasingly stifled & task oriented lifestyle. The term, "Business Bondage" began to become a reality. Being tied to the business, and having a less-than-ideal take home profit, eventually led him to bail from the wedding industry & take up surf action and lifestyle photography. Because this was one of his life passions, the balance of work and play was perfect. Working in this new industry helped him to establish new standards in his life: lots of traveling & quality time, including: more shooting, more developing relationships, more fun, and more beach time. Mike also worked with large marketing firms and began shooting lifestyle for large clothing companies, and learned a lot about branding and business outside of the world of wedding photographers.
He then had the opportunity to shoot a friend's wedding in Hawaii got him back into shooting weddings, although he vowed to do everything differently than he had in the past. He set out to get back into it the wedding industry and went from 4 weddings in '04 to 37 by the next year. 52 the following year. Fast forward 2 years, Mike's business has grown and so has his outlook on business & life. His business has allowed him to travel the world, using his momentum and profit to buy commercial property(including a new studio lounge), grow & develop his character, make new friends, and learn so much. He maintains an amazingly blessed marriage, striving to always be learning, reading, sharing & encouraging others. He believes that one's business should be a vehicle for a more abundant life, whereas too often it can do the opposite if not kept in check. Have your business support your ideal lifestyle. Recently he has photographed weddings in Singapore, Brazil, Italy, Ireland, Hawaii, West Indies.
Mike Larson is an international photographer and speaker, and for a period of time a photo editor for a surf magazine he traveled around the globe to photograph exotic locations, surf, the people and their cultures. He has been honored to be sought after to photograph spectacular weddings around the world. “Such diversity keeps me constantly striving to be outside the box”. For the last 10 years Mike has been seeking to deliver his clients the most creative, luxurious, classy and photojournalistic work possible. His clients know whey they want, they have style, and want images to reflect how fun they are, who they are; and an artistic elegant and timeless presentation. Mike represents Pictage, California Sunbounce, Kiss Wedding books, ShootQ management software. He resides in Southern California, and lives with his wife, Rachel. Together with a team of associates and office staff, serve couples anywhere in the world.
“Being a stand for creative expression, all who encounter his presence and body of images are moved, touched, and inspired by his integrity and commitment to his passion.”
